FAQ

Where can I find the training and tournament schedule?

Our full schedule can be found on our website under the 'Calendar' tab. We update it regularly to keep our players and parents informed.

What kind of training will my child receive?

At Olney Junior Hockey Club, we provide weekly training sessions for our players that are tailored to their age and skill level. Our experienced and friendly coaches are dedicated to helping our players improve their hockey skills while also fostering a love of the sport. Our coaches are all England Hockey level 1 or 2 qualified and hold current DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications.

What equipment will my child need?

A fitted gumshield and shin pads are the only mandatory pieces of kit. Loose clothing suitable for sports / running around are the only other things that are needed! We can provide sticks if needed.

For tournaments, club socks are also required.

Is club kit available?

Yes! We have everything from hoodies, tops, shorts and socks available to buy, each in the club colours and with our logo. See the kit menu for details.

Can I come watch training?

Unfortunately for sessions held in the hall at Ousedale Olney (U8s, U10s) there is no space for parent spectators. However it's fine to sign in at reception and watch the U12s/14s from outside the pitch at Newport Pagnell. Just remember to wrap up warm and bring something for if rain is forecast!

What are the membership fees for Olney Junior Hockey Club?

Our membership fees vary depending on the age group of the player. Please visit our 'Membership' page for more information.

If we join partway through a term, do we pay full price?

No, we will pro-rata the cost for the term. Please contact us and we'll give you details for a bank transfer.

If my child misses training sessions, do I get a refund?

We don't offer refunds, but if a session is cancelled by the club, we will either put on an extra session or reduce the membership fees for the following term.
